VW to quit combustion engines in 2026

Volkswagen has put an expiry date on future development of its combustion engines. The German car maker says the next generation of its petrol engines will also be its last when they launch in 2026. NSW Police pick BMW and Chrysler pursuit vehicles

NSW Police has locked in BMW and Chrysler sedans to replace Holden and Ford machines on the state highway patrol fleet. BMW will supply special 530d sedans in what the brand describes as a “specific authority specification” stripped of some luxuries. The sedans are equipped with special equipment including M Sport brakes and suspension, as well as comfort seats.
